The gateway to great golf can be found at the Practice Center by PGA™ in Port St. Lucie, Fla., where you will find a 35-acre golf park created by the teachers of the game, The Professional Golfer's Association of America.
About the Practice Center by PGA
The first such facility of its kind, The Practice Center by PGA was created
to fulfill a dream. Since 1916, when a group of New York area professionals
and amateurs attended a luncheon that would eventually give birth to The PGA
of America, the question of how to promote golf has been central to those that
know and love the game. So, in the year 2000, as the world is emerging with
new technologies, the teachers of the game bring a dream to reality with the
Practice Center by PGA.
Whether beginner or PGA Professional, the Practice Center by PGA is your home to the ultimate in golf - the "PGA Experience" - a fun-filled welcoming atmosphere that will enhance your skill and enjoyment of the game.
The Practice Center by PGA experience begins under the PGA's signature clocktower in the 12,000 square foot Welcome Center. There you will be greeted by PGA Professionals who will explain all the Practice Center by PGA has to offer you and your family.
Practice Center by PGA includes:
• Learning Laboratory for PGA Golf Schools and seminars.
• Practice Stations: More than 100 private practice stations with Tifway
419 Bermuda turf grass where players hit to unique landing areas with practice
fairways and target greens.
• Bunkers: A variety of bunkers for fairway and green-side recovery shot
practice.
• Short game scoring area: Practice pitch & run and chip shots to
track improvement and score performance.
• A 15,000 square foot, 18-hole putting course built to USGA specifications
to score putting practice.
• A 7,000 square foot practice putting green built to USGA specifications.
• PGA Professionals offer teaching clinics and private lessons in four
private teaching amphitheaters.
• A three-hole teaching course to conduct playing lessons, course etiquette
and explain the Rules of Golf.
• Golf equipment testing and demonstration area: Manufacturers will display
the latest equipment for consumers to try while practicing at the Practice Center
by PGA.
• A 2,000 square foot delicatessen restaurant.
• PGA Golf Shop: The latest in golf apparel from the country's top designers;
a custom clubfitting area will allow your clubs to be custom fitted to your
specifications.
• HealthSouth Fitness Center: Learn about golf-specific workouts to improve
one's game and extend years of enjoyment.
